I had a short photo session with this beautiful girl here... she's actually a second year medical school student.

As usual, comments, critiques, and suggestions are appreciated!

model beautiful and the pose is just awesome.

I TOTALLY SEE YOU HAVE THE CANON DIGITAL REBEL XT...
I'm planning on getting one I'm saving money for it. May I ask how it is? I mostly do web stuff and prints (not too large) And I've been deciding between Nkon D70 and the XT but my own personal preference is always Canon.

I love canon because I think they have nicer lenses. The XT is great... though there are some kinks to it that I don't mind exchanging to a D20 for. If you have the extra $500, then get the D20. Although it's heavier and clunkier sounding, it's slightly a worthier camera in terms of functionality and exposure balancing.

However, that said, my camera does fine for my needs =). I think in the end, it's how to use the camera that counts. Read the reviews and decide for yourself. I think there's a review on the internet comparing the XT to D20.

If you're on a limited budget, then get the XT and spend the money on some nice sharp prime lenses. They're very worthwhile and can get a sharpness/contrast that sub $1000 zoom lenses can't.

This really is a wonderful shot. If there was no blurring or editing in Photoshop, then the DoF is excellent. :+fav:

Only thing I did in photoshop was to soften the face a bit (which I think almost all portrait photographers do nowadays). This way, you can keep the eyes and hair very sharp while having a soft complexion. If you do a soft focus while taking the picture (you can buy soft filters on the lens) or use an unsharp process in the raw edit modes, everything gets softened, which produces an angelic halo effect, but lack the quality and the detail you would see if you follow this process.

yeah I've read LOTS of reviews as well and just to my own personal needs and conclusions I think I would get the XT :p

I may get another lens too as I save up along the way

At the minimum, if you want to do portraits, get the 50mm f/1.8. It's under $100!
